Kilograms to Grams (kg to g)
The kilogram is the SI base unit of mass and a gram is exactly 1/1,000 of it (NIST SP 811), so multiply kilograms by 1,000 — move the decimal point three places right. 1.25 kg is 1,250 g.
Grams
1,000
Formula
grams = kilograms × 1,000
Example: 0.2 kilograms = 200 grams.

Good to know
Cooking: 0.5 kg of flour is 500 g, 0.2 kg of butter is 200 g and a 1.5 kg chicken is 1,500 g. Recipes in grams are more accurate than cups because they don't depend on how the cup is filled.
Shipping and baggage: postal rates often step every 100 or 250 g. A 2.3 kg parcel is 2,300 g; a 23 kg checked-bag limit is 23,000 g (50.7 lb).
Decimal mistakes: 0.05 kg is 50 g, not 500 g. Count three places: 0.050 → 050 → 50 g.
