Seconds to Hours (s to h)
An hour is 60 minutes of 60 seconds, so it is exactly 3,600 seconds (the SI second is defined by the cesium-133 frequency; NIST SP 811 lists the hour as 3,600 s). Divide seconds by 3,600 to get hours: 7,200 seconds is 2 hours and 5,400 seconds is 1.5 hours.
Formula
hours = seconds ÷ 3,600
Example: 900 seconds = 0.25 hours.

Good to know
Hours, minutes and seconds: divide by 3,600 and keep the whole number as hours; divide the remainder by 60 for minutes; what is left is seconds. 10,000 s → 2 h (7,200 s), remainder 2,800 s → 46 min (2,760 s), remainder 40 s: 2 h 46 min 40 s.
Decimal hours for timesheets and invoices: 4,500 seconds is 1.25 hours, not '1.45'. Our time to decimal converter turns h:mm:ss into decimal hours and back.
Big numbers: 86,400 seconds is a day (24 h), 604,800 seconds is a week (168 h) and 1,000,000 seconds is 277.8 hours — about 11.6 days. Video, workout and fitness apps that log total seconds can be read in hours this way.
