Above a D cup, brands disagree on the letters, and EU cups step 2 cm while UK cups step 1 inch, so treat large cups as a starting point and check the brand's chart. Sister sizes (34C, 32D, 36B) hold the same cup volume.

How to use it

Pick the country on your label, then the band and cup. Every other country's size appears at once. A US 34DDD is a UK 34E, an EU 75F, a French 90F, an Italian 3F and an Australian 12E. Bands convert exactly; cups are matched by position on each country's letter ladder.

If you don't know your size, use the measuring section: underbust snug around the ribcage, bust loosely around the fullest part, both standing straight in a non-padded bra.

How bands convert

UK and US bands are the same number in inches. Continental Europe and Japan label the band in centimetres in 5 cm steps (the European clothing-size standard EN 13402 uses body measurements in cm), so UK 32 is EU 70 and UK 34 is EU 75. France, Spain and Belgium add 15 to the EU number (EU 75 = FR 90), Australia and New Zealand subtract 22 from the UK band (34 = 12), and Italy counts up from 0 for a UK 28 in two-inch steps (34 = 3).

Why cups disagree after D

Up to D every system uses the same letters. After that the UK doubles letters (DD, E, F, FF, G, GG), the US often uses DD, DDD and then single letters from G, and Europe runs straight through the alphabet (E, F, G, H). Each UK or US cup is about one inch of difference between bust and band, while each EU cup is 2 cm, slightly less, so the gap grows in very large cups. Use the chart as a starting point and check the brand.

Sister sizes keep the cup volume while changing the band: one band size down and one cup up (34C to 32D), or one band up and one cup down (34C to 36B).

Frequently asked questions

What is a US 34DDD in UK sizes?

UK 34E. In Europe it is a 75F, in France 90F and in Australia 12E.

What is a 75B bra in US sizes?

A US 34B. EU 75 is the 34-inch band, and cups up to D use the same letters everywhere.

Is UK DD the same as US DD?

Yes, DD is the same cup in both. They part ways after it: UK E is US DDD (sometimes labelled F), and UK F is US G.

How do I convert French bra sizes?

Subtract 15 from the French band to get the EU band (90 → 75), then 75 is a UK/US 34. Cups follow the EU letters.

How do I measure my bra size?

Measure snug under the bust and round to the nearest even inch for the band. Measure the fullest part of the bust; each inch of difference is one cup: 1 = A, 2 = B, 3 = C, 4 = D, 5 = DD.
